DOS dBase to Windows dB2k Conversion
There remain a huge number of DOS dBase applications in use today. Many businesses have been built up around such applications or these applications may represent a specialist niche of expertise within a company. Technology has however moved on and today the all-prevailing "Windows" environment is the norm. There are many approaches one may take to this dilemma and no single solution will be applicable to all. We have helped many clients with such problems. The article available below discusses the approach we took with one such client. The article was written as one of several published on the UK dBase Users Group web site.
Topics discussed in the article include:
Background and objectives
Inherent Windows characteristics
dB2k features used in the process
